Power Tools
Six-step commutation, rotor position sensing and stall protection for brushless power tools, plus battery-pack charge, temperature and charging-current sensing.
Power Tools
Power tools are moving wholesale from brushed to brushless motors: longer runtime and higher torque from the same pack — at the cost of needing to know where the rotor is, which is exactly what Hall sensors provide. The environment adds stall, drop and temperature extremes.
RJMICRO Hall latches supply the three position signals required for six-step commutation; the motor control SoC integrates pre-driver and protection logic for sensor-based or sensorless drive; low-quiescent-current LDOs provide always-on power for the pack and fuel-gauge module.
